John Smith’s Bay cleanup a huge success

Trash titans: the cleanup group at John Smith’s Bay

A total of 83 people turned out for the Saltus clean-up at John Smith’s Bay.

Ms Erika Powell, Saltus Year 4 Teacher and Year Coordinator, organised the second of two cleanups this academic year at John Smith’s Bay as part of Keep Bermuda Beautiful’s Adopt-A-Spot Initiative on Saturday.

The group that turned up included students and their families along with staff and alumni and helped to make the Saltus/KBB clean up such a success. Students were easy to spot in their red #4 PE shirts and did a great job representing Saltus in the community.

Ms Powell said: “In total, we collected the equivalent of 21 bags of regular trash and 17 bags of recyclables plus a few bulky items found on the beach.”
