Students in swing of things at tournament

Talent: Saltus golfers

The Secondary Department at Saltus held its second annual Inter-House Golf Tournament on June 2 at Ocean View Golf Course. Under sunny skies with a light breeze, seven middle year golfers and nine senior golfers took to the course to compete for the Inter-House Golf Championship.

The teams played nine holes under Captain’s Choice format from the White Tees (senior) and Red Tees (middle). The final scores proved that there was stiff competition among the four Houses.

Defending champions Team Butterfield — the youngest team in the tournament — turned in a very impressive three under par to retain the title.

The school is fortunate to have some talented golfers and it is our hope to have some girls competing next year. Results were as follows:

First Place to Butterfield with a score of 32: Spencer Young (S10), Kian Mooney (S9), Matthew Ingelman (S9), Max McCrimmon (S8).

Second Place to Saltus with a score of 35: Ryan Day (SGY2), Samson Douglas (SGY1), Zachery Correia (S9), JD Card (S9).

Third Place to Watlington with a score of 37: John Ewles (SGY1), Nuno Rebelo (S10), William Attridge (S10), Louis Hammond (S8).

Fourth Place to Darrell with a score of 39: Jordan Swan (SGY1), Marcos Furr (S10), Jackson Burns (S10), William Nokes (S8).
