Adela a Super star

Adela will defend her Superyacht title

Oracle Team USA will not be the only defender involved in the 35th America’s Cup.

Adela, a 180 foot twin-masted Schooner, will also be defending her title at June’s America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta.

The Pendennis Shipyard yacht has produced a string of regatta victories on the Caribbean circuit in recent years, including the Antigua Superyacht Challenge on her race debut in 2015 and RORC Caribbean 600.

Also among the 20 yachts already registered is local entry Visione, a Reichel/Pugh design Baltic 147, which finished second behind Adela in the 2015 Antigua Superyacht Challenge.

Visione, owned by Hasso Plattner, is a multiple class winner at the Antigua Superyacht Challenge.

The America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta will also feature Lionheart which is a throwback to the 12 Metre Class that dominated the America’s Cup scene for nearly three decades before being replaced by the International America’s Cup Class boats in 1992.

The regatta will be held in local waters from June 12 -15 with the deadline for entries expiring on April 1.
