Anyone interested in taking advantage of the offer should either telephone or call the SPCA in Paget. The shelter staff will make the necessary arrangements and people who are unable to transport their pets to the veterinary clinic will be assisted by the charity.

A spokeswoman for the SPCA said: "One unaltered cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 kittens in seven years, and one dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years.
