It's been dubbed the fashion event of the year and will feature designers such as Monif C, Jean Trix, Charles Lynch, Alicia Wanklyn and Anthony Dean Williams.

'The Dukes & Duchess' Fashion Show: Make a Statement', presented by A.B. Dolce Productions, will take place at the City Hall Theatre on Saturday and organiser Amon Dolce Butler said it is going to be his farewell show, as he is going to university in January.

His last show, at the Fairmont Southampton, sold out and an extra 200 people had to be accommodated such was the demand. "We had 700 people in attendance. In fact, people were banging on the door trying to get in," he said.

Although last year's show was a sell out, this one will not be as big. "I just want to focus on myself and the production, so you are still going to get the same feel, it's just in a smaller venue and it is going to be more intimate," said Amon, who aims to become a stylist.

"This is also like going home, because this is where my first show took place [in 2008]."

But although the venue will be more intimate, he said he has some hard hitting and popular designers coming in for the show.

"There are three international designers flying down for the fashion show," he said. "We have Monif C who took part last year. She is a full figure designer who has been featured on Oprah, Good Morning America and The View. She is very famous for the convertible dresses and as soon as they come out they sell out.

"Jean Trix is coming also. I found them on MySpace about five or six years ago and I've been a huge fan ever since. They also took part in the show last year and they want to take part in the fashion show every year.

"Their work is mainly haute couture, which is made out of recyclables. This year they made a collection just for my show and they will premiere their collection here. With the exposure they have been getting they are actually dressing (dressed) a few celebrities for the BET Awards.

"Then we have Charles Lynch and he is more contemporary This will be his first time taking part."

Two local designers will also feature in this year's show Anthony Dean Williams, who does a line called Definitions, and also Alicia Wanklyn, who was featured last year did a small section in the intro.

"I had heard so much about her and I really wanted to feature her this year and show what she can do and she chose swimsuits and I'm excited about that.

"Then we have a few other fashion forward stores participating such as Gibbons Company, Boutique CC, Cecile, Zig Zag, an online lingerie site called Naughty Kitty, a new store on Joell's Alley called Metropolitan and Brown & Co."

Another facet of the show will be the Style, Substance and Glamour Award.

Last year's awardees included former international fashion model Sheila Ming Burgess, Lady Gibbons, Sheilagh Cooper, model Tori Simons and Style Bermuda's Shiona Turrini.

This year the four honourees are Roxanne Christopher, Terrilyn Doyle, Tammy Richardson-Augustus and Rhonda Daniels.

Part proceeds of this years show will go to the charity Tomorrow's Voices.
