Bermuda gets top rating from Queen Victoria passengers

Impressed with Island: Cunard cruise ship <I>Queen Victoria</I> during her visit to the Island on April 2 this year.

Tourists aboard a luxury cruise ship ranked Bermuda their favourite destination.Minister of Transport Terry Lister announced that visitors on the Queen Victoria, which visited the Island on April 2, said Bermuda ranked the best destination on their trans-Atlantic voyage. Bermuda was the only port visited that no one said was a ‘poor destination’.In a survey passengers ranked Bermuda as the top scoring port of call with a score of 91.3. The nearest rival achieved 88.2.The ship can carry 1,824 passengers and 900 crewmembers. It was the first time they had docked in Bermuda. Queen Victoria will make one more stop this year, in December.In addition to visiting Bermuda the tourists visited Port Carnaevral, Florida; Charleston, South Carolina; Ponta Delgada, Azores; Lisbon, Portugal; Cork, Ireland; Paris and Normandy, France. It ended in Southampton, England.Mr Lister said: “This is indeed good news. I’m very pleased that our efforts have not gone unnoticed.
