Jason Smith was the first ‘keeper chosen when he was selected in 2009.With the second pick, Royal selected Keishen Bean while Jamie Smith was taken third by the Titans. The Union went for Jason Lee with their first round slot while the surprise of the night was Khamisi Lightourne going to Kings.The Knights and Arsenal selected Nigel Burgess and Taurean Manders, and the defending champions Storm picked Angelo Simmons.For Lightbourne, it was pleasing to be chosen so early with the budding 19-year-old set to test his skills in the smaller version of the game.“I’m excited for this chance, it is my first season playing so I am anxious to see how this style of the game works out for me,” said Lightbourne.“This was my first full season of playing in the top division.
