Released Town winger Reggie Lambe is on trial with Blue Square Bet Premier side Newport County.The 20-year-old was told his Ipswich Town terms wouldn't be extended at the end of the season.Lambe returned to former loan club Bristol Rovers for a trial but failed to impress new manager Paul Buckle.On Wednesday night, the Bermuda international was in friendly action with Newport, creating the first goal in a 4-1 victory over Merthyr Town.County boss Anthony Hudson is a long-time friend of Paul Scope, the Bermuda Hogges owner, and a known admirer of several of the Island's players.Hudson, who took over the reins at County at the end of last season, formerly coached Real Maryland Monarchs in the United Soccer Leagues.County recently announced they would be turning professional with the Welsh club becoming a full-time outfit.Lambe made four Carling Cup starts and two Championship substitute appearances during his time at Portman Road. He also made seven substitute appearances on loan at Rovers at the end of last term.
