Wells has fitted in nicely, says Robins

Good fit: Wells

Nahki Wells has settled in well at Huddersfield Town, according to Mark Robins, the club, who could unleash his new striker against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow.

The 23-year-old signed for Town for a club record of more than £1.3?million last week and marked his debut with the winning goal against Millwall.

Robins said that Wells had looked sharp in training and already appeared to be at home at the Sky Bet Championship club.

“I’m very happy with him,” Robins told the Huddersfield Examiner. “The goal has helped, but Nahki is a good lad and I’m very pleased with what I’ve seen from him.

“Even after a couple of days he looks like he has been with us for a long time, and that’s a great thing.

“It’s important when you go to a new club that you settle down quickly and he’s certainly done that in what is a very happy and positive environment.

“Even if he hadn’t notched the goal against Millwall, we know that we’ve brought in a real goalscorer, and I’m delighted with what I’ve seen from him.”

Robins has Wells, Martin Paterson and leading scorer James Vaughan — now back from injury — fighting for a start against high-flying QPR at Loftus Road.

“Nahki is willing to work hard at his game and, being only 23, there is still a lot of improvement in him, which is a terrific situation to be in,” Robins added. “The lads have been great, too, and really welcomed him into the group in our sessions at Canalside.

“We’ve got a tremendous bunch of lads in our squad at this club and that only helps when it comes to bringing in new faces, so all credit to them.”
