Estwanik and Donawa claim Triangle honours

Triangle winner: Ashley Estwanik

Ashley Estwanik, Jay Donawa, Miranda Bachman and Wes Dearborn won their respective Bermuda Triangle challenge divisions over the weekend.

The challenge requires athletes to run the Front Street Mile, 10K and either the half-marathon or full marathon.

Jay Donawa won the men’s half challenge in a total time of 1hr 58min 34sec with Londoner Michael Long runner-up in 2:06:47. Third place went to Andy Starr in 2:12:44.

Estwanik won the women’s half challenge in 2:05:45. Deon Breary was second in 2:18:29 and Joan Benoit Samuelson, the former Olympic marathon champion from the United States, third in 2:18:45.

Wes Dearborn, of Canada, won the men’s full challenge in 3:42:19, with Frank White, of the US, a close second in 3:46:47 and Helmuth Noesner, of Germany, third in 3:53:13.

Miranda Bachman, of the US, won the women’s full challenge in 4:25:28. Canadian Jessica Laird was second in 4:28:46 and Laura Wright, of Bermuda, third in 4:32:51.
