The next gaming town hall to be held on Wednesday

The Ministry of Tourism has announced new dates for coming Town Hall meetings tackling the topic of gaming in Bermuda.

A meeting had been scheduled to take place on February 6, but was cancelled due to industrial action between the Bermuda Industrial Union and the Hamilton Princess.

Tourism Minister Shawn Crockwell said yesterday that meeting will now take place on Wednesday, February 19 at Pier 6 on Front Street between 6pm and 8pm.

Another town hall is scheduled to take place tonight at St James Church Hall in Sandys between 6pm and 8pm.

A planned young professionals open microphone meeting has been meanwhile been cancelled and will now be hosted by the Future Bermuda Alliance.

Mr Crockwell said: “In addition to these town hall meetings, and events put on by the Future Bermuda Alliance, we will also meet with representatives of social services organisations to discuss how we intend to mitigate social risks.

“I encourage anyone with any questions or concerns about gaming in Bermuda to attend one of these meetings so that they can learn more about what the Government proposes and how the introduction of Integrated Resorts Casinos in Bermuda will provide opportunities and jobs for Bermudians.”
