Young players to do battle in Kappa Classic

The three-day annual Kappa Classic kicks off on Friday, featuring more than a thousand players from 78 boys’ and girls’ teams.

Held at the National Sports Centre and the North Field, the event will for the first time include an overseas team, with the John Smith Soccer Academy, of the United States, entering sides in the boys’ under-12 and under-14 divisions. The competition is for players aged from 8 to 14.

The group stage and quarter-finals will be on Friday, starting at 6pm, and Saturday, between 8.30am and 5.30pm.

The semi-finals and finals will be staged on Sunday between 9am and 1pm. Hosted by the Men of the Bermuda Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc, entry for the event is free.

There will be a raffle held for travel vouchers, grocery vouchers and gas vouchers. The draw will take place on Saturday.
