Over $4,000 raised for mission project in Zambia

A fundraising concert at the Crawl Gospel Hall has been declared a ringing success, raising more than $4,000 for an overseas mission project.

The Spring Concert, held on Saturday, boasted instrumental performances by Robert Burgess, Keith Lee, Otis Gibbs, Tahj Cox, Paul Smith, Amon Wedderburn, Malik Alick and Jude Richardson, while poets June Crichlow and Victoria Robinson also took the stage.

According to organisers a total of 260 tickets for the event were sold, raising around $4,500 to fund a mission project in Zambia.

Pastor Dean Furbert said: “What we wanted to go is give the community an uplifting and inspiring performance and to inspire our students to see what they can accomplish and encourage them to pursue their opportunities to perform.”
