Fundraising workshop taking place tomorrow

Suzanne Wilson, from AFP Bermuda

A workshop for fundraising professionals will take place tomorrow at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute.

Bloomerang chief executive officer Jay Love will present the 4pm session, which is being hosted by the Bermuda chapter of the newly formed Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).

Suzanne Wilson, from AFP Bermuda, said the workshop would focus on donor retention. She said a recent report commissioned by AFP and the Urban Institute on fundraising effectiveness produced some “dismal news” and “should be an eye opener for every non-profit engaged in fundraising”.

She added: “There will be a demonstration of Bloomerang, which is a wonderful database for donor information. It is very new and innovative, easy to use, intuitive etc, so anyone in the Bermuda community looking to change or implement one would be very interested in attending this.”

Ms Wilson encouraged anyone in the Island’s “third sector” to attend the workshop, which is free to AFP Bermuda members and $25 for non-members.
