A new marina at the Hamilton Princess will open in July.

The addition to the hotel will be the only full service marina on the Island, complete with pump-out facilities, custom electrical service and water distribution.

The marina is part of a $90 million redevelopment of the hotel announced after the Green family took over the property two years ago.

A gazebo-style bar and grill next to the new marina — called 1609 after the year of the first permanent settlement of the Island — will open its doors next month.

Alexander Green said: “We are delighted that the renovations of the marina are nearing completion.

“Since we became owners of the hotel, we pledged to rejuvenate the property and we believe that the new marina, along with the other renovations, will do just that.”

The marina will have 60 permanent berths available for local yachts, plus additional spaces for visiting boats up to superyacht size.

And being on a boat doesn’t mean roughing it — services available from the hotel include, ice, food and drinks and picnic hampers.

Mr Green said: “Berth holders will be able to call up ahead and arrange to have their coolers stocked with drinks, snacks, ice and picnic hampers so that when they arrive they are ready to depart for the day.

“We are determined to raise the standard of service in Bermuda and do everything we can to improve the Bermuda experience.”
