Learning table manners

Schoolchildren learned dining etiquette over a meal at businesses around the Island, as part of their last class in the Bermuda Hospitality Institute’s annual “Hospitality Skills = Life Skills” Programme.

Now in its fourth year, the programme aims to furnish young students with an awareness of hospitality. Final classes began yesterday with The Reefs hosting Elliott Primary pupils.

The four-month course runs until mid-May. Other hosts for the final classes include The Fairmont Southampton, Rosewood Tucker’s Point Hotel and Grotto Bay Beach Resort, as well as the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.

It is also attended by students from Francis Patton, Port Royal, Heron Bay, Dalton E Tucker and Victor Scott Primary Schools, and from Dellwood and Whitney Institute Middle Schools.

On top of their current lessons, participants have also gone through classes on Bermuda Pride, Bermudian Hospitality and Customer Service.
