Medical treatment for ship personnel

Two separate vessels, including an unidentified US Navy ship, called on the Island for evacuations of personnel yesterday.

The US warship, which diverted course for Bermuda on Friday, dropped an officer and a contractor ashore at about 8am, as well as a crew member requiring medical treatment.

Additionally, the merchant vessel Alpine Legend, en route to Charleston, South Carolina, from Lagos, Nigeria, sent two men ashore for medical treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The two were brought ashore by pilot boat to rendezvous with an ambulance at 4.30pm at Ordnance Island.
