Race on: Despite some bad weather The Friends of Hospice held the 18th Annual Rubber Duck Derby yesterday at Ordnance Island, in St George to the delight of spectators. Hundreds of rubber ducks were raced in the town’s harbour.

A sea of bright-coloured ducks lit up St George’s Harbour yesterday, as the Friends of Hospice 18th annual Rubber Duck Derby took to the waters.

The races, which are the top fundraiser for the Agape House in-patient hospice, got delayed slightly from the scheduled 2pm start due to a downpour, but went ahead to cheers from the shore.

From the dock at Ordnance Island hundreds of the bright yellow ducks were tipped overboard to be carried on the current beneath the bridge.

While the Family Race, Pamper Me Race and Youth Race were taking place in the water, games, live entertainment and food stalls brought festivities to the Old Town.
