Bus drivers shouldn’t verbally abuse passengers

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you on behalf of all passengers that are being treated horribly on the bus by bus drivers. I am a young adult who attends Bermuda College and I travel on the bus with a student pass and my college ID, which states that I can use the pass till the end of July. I have called the Department of Public Transportation and confirmed that fact. However today I got on the bus and showed my pass as a regular routine and this particular female bus driver stopped me and said with an aggressive tone, “you know you are not supposed to use that bus pass!”.

As stated before I made a call to confirm that I can, therefore I tried to explain to her that I can use it, but before I could say anything she rudely cut me off and repeated herself. Very unprofessional. She told me I couldn’t use the pass since April 1st. How ironic being that Bermuda College was still in at that time. I felt disrespected and embarrassed — she shouldn’t carry herself in such a manner. Recently I was on her bus and she cursed out a passenger because he was playing his music too loud (I must add that he is a challenge). She even screamed at a tourist for eating on the bus. I have heard a lot of complainants in regards to female bus drivers. With that being said the point I am trying to make is that bus drivers shouldn’t be verbally abusive to their passengers. There are numerous of ways to express yourself without anger. To get respect you have to give it. I refuse to sit and become another silent voice that a bus driver verbally abuses. Enough is enough. No one should be subjected to abuse.
