Is any government going to be strong enough?

Dear Sir:

The PLP/POP could possibly win another election. Why? The sad fact of the matter is that Bermuda cannot produce a government that is strong enough to take on the islands’ financial problems successfully. There are still too many Bermudians who are easily swayed by political demagoguery and race-baiting. They are told that the Island will be a better place without foreigners. Many would rather bring down the entire apple cart as long as they feel that those Bermudians who are wealthier than them will suffer too.

The PLP/POP, who are responsible for this sad state of affairs do not care about the consequences and will do anything to regain access to Governments’ dwindling, heavily looted coffers. Yes, we have a beautiful island but the outlook for cooperation between Bermudians is almost non existent. To many years of unchecked self entitlement has ruined our work ethic and we are not willing, or able, to provide value for money as a country anymore. We are carrying a national debt well north of $2 Billion dollars on the backs of 60,000 plus Bermudians. The sheer level of childish stupidity displayed in our parliament is making us the laughing stock of the Western Hemisphere. Yeah, the PLP/POP might win an election — unless our monumentally stupid electorate comes to its senses and realises that you can’t eat sand and salt water.
