A Southampton man has been given a suspended sentence after attempting to leave the Island with more than $50,000 in cash which he knew to be the proceeds of criminal activity.
Ricardo Walker, 44 was caught at LF Wade International Airport trying to leave the island with $51,206 on October 21 last year, according to prosecutors.
He pleaded guilty to the offence at an earlier hearing and last week Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner gave the defendant a 12-month jail sentence suspended for two years.
