Is Bean capable of taking Bermuda forward?

July 14, 2014

Dear Sir,

Having just listened to Opposition Leader Marc Bean on a radio talk show, Bermuda could be in trouble. The hateful, angry and accusatory words used were enough to make people who disagree with his views, consider leaving.

His words could be interpreted and misconstrued by some of those amongst us to the point that, civil unrest resulting in violence could occur. Terms such as “my people”, “they” suggests to me that he is only interested in the well being of some and not all. He labelled The Tourism Authority as corrupt, without any explanation or evidence.

Is Mr Bean so filled of hate for his political adversaries? Is this someone capable of taking Bermuda forward ? Should our leaders be for everyone, and not just one group? We see the results of leaders who only represent their own interests and the societies they create.Boycotting Parliament, when the people’s business needs addressing, is not the right thing to do. The Governor made a simple request Mr Bean did not agree with, so we see the result.

Hopefully the people will see The Opposition Leader for who he is. A leader of a party so desperate for power at any cost. Heaven help us if he is successful!
