A young boy who nearly drowned at Admiralty House Park is still recovering, but is now in stable condition.

The nine-year-old was swimming in Clarence Cove on Friday afternoon when he encountered difficulties. The boy was pulled from the water and given CPR before being rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

While the boy was initially being kept in the Intensive Care Unit, his condition improved over the weekend and he was moved to the children’s ward, where he remains in stable condition.

Police are still making inquiries into the incident and are urging any witnesses who have yet to come forward to call the Hamilton Police Station at 295-0011.
