International spotlight on Island restaurants

Bermuda’s restaurants have received international attention courtesy of an article on the Haute Living website.

The article by Kristin Tablang, which appeared online yesterday, highlights a number of iconic Bermudian restaurants and dishes, including Art Mel’s famous fish sandwich, Bailey’s Bay ice cream and Waterlot Inn’s Ridiculous Caesar.

The story also notes the Marcus Samuelsson’s Pop Up restaurant at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess, including an interview with Mr Samuelsson about his choice to open a restaurant in Bermuda.

In the interview, Mr Samuelsson said: “I love Bermuda’s British, Caribbean, and Portuguese influences, combined with the country’s rich history, vibrant island culture, and abundance of seafood. Different cultures and ingredients inspire the way I cook everyday, and I’m excited to create a new menu through this country’s lens.

“I have really enjoyed getting to know Bermuda through my pop-up at Samuelsson at HP, and am excited to be a part of its landscape in a more permanent way when the signature restaurant opens next year.”
