Activist Gina Spence has teamed up with the Gibbons Company to collect used school uniforms for children in need.

Ms Spence, who runs Gina Spence Productions, is looking for used school clothes in good condition, which can be dropped off at special bins in the Gibbons’ children’s department at the Reid Street store in Hamilton.

“Last year, we had a waiting list of families needing help with school uniforms — due to loss of jobs and the economy, we believe these numbers are going to increase,” Ms Spence said.

Ms Spence added that the deadline to nominate a child to benefit from the scheme is tomorrow and that nominations can be made on forms at gspic.org. Donations can be made at HSBC account number 010-411486-001 (back to school campaign).

Ms Spence is partnered with broadcasters ZBM for the each one reach one drive.
