Fire report pending

An investigation into a fire at a construction yard in Warwick has not revealed the cause.

The blaze broke out at a property owned by Eddie Roque on Quarry Hill Road, Warwick, on May 20 and needed six fire trucks and 35 firefighters to be quelled.

Sergeant Russann Francis, from the Bermuda Fire Service, said yesterday: “The result of the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service investigation states that the cause of the fire was undetermined.”

A separate inquiry, prompted by complaints from neighbours about noise and pollution from the site, is being conducted by the Department of Environmental Health.

“The report on this is scheduled for completion towards the end of September,” a department spokeswoman said.
