Dear Sir,

Through your letters to the editor I am writing to express my sincere thanks to two kind gentlemen who helped me on Wednesday.

Having parked my car in the underground car park at the Market Place on Church Street, I was most upset when I found I could not start the car after doing my shopping.

Fortunately there was a nice man who kindly helped me by calling a mechanic whom he knew. That mechanic soon came in his maintenance vehicle and jump started my car.

Without the help of those two men I do not know what I would have done and their kindness on Wednesday was greatly appreciated.

I would also like to thank the staff at Weir Enterprises who quickly replaced the battery when I drove the car into their yard. It is nice to know that there are people around to help one another.
