There should be no feral cats

September 24, 2014

Dear Sir.

As a pet cat owner I believe there should be no such thing in Bermuda as a ‘feral’ cat.

Cats are home-loving domesticated pets.

I have never been able to understand the practice of BFAB to catch, neuter and release cats.

The poor creature receives maybe a day or two of warmth, shelter, attention, petting, good food, then is thrown back into the wild.

What cats need is shelter on rainy and windy nights, good food, a warm lap to curl up on, and especially a family to call their own.

Please BFAB catch, neuter and re-home.

If the cat is not suitable for re-homing then like any ‘feral’ creature it should be put down.

Signed.
