Taylor grabs hat-trick for Blazers

Missed chance: Wolfe

Dunn-ya Taylor scored a hat-trick while Tiaevince Douglas added a brace to inspire First Division leaders Boulevard to a 5-1 victory over Ireland Island Rangers at Police Field yesterday.

Taylor netted in the 20th, 64th and 90th minutes.

Douglas took only six minutes to break the deadlock before adding a second in the 57th minute with his team in total control.

The only blemish on Boulevard’s copybook was the sending off forward Ian Coke for a second booking.

Jonathan Bean grabbed a consolation for the visiting side who were simply out of their depth.

Young Men’s Social Club came from behind to beat St David’s Warriors 2-1 at Bernard Park.

The visiting side opened the scoring through Jokai Fox after three minutes before Michael Smith replied in the 37th minute.

Giovanni Saltus sealed social Club’s second straight win with a goal in the 79th minute.

BAA Wanderers squandered a two-goal lead against X-Roads and had to settle for a share of the spoils at Goose Gosling Field on Saturday night.

Shentoine Lambert gave BAA the lead in the fourteenth minute before Joshua DeSilva doubled their lead from the penalty spot on 21 minutes.

Tymon Daniels pulled a goal back for X-Roads just before half-time to make it 2-1, with the visiting side finding an equaliser soon after the interval through Damali Bell.

DeSilva struck the crossbar with a header but amends moments later with a close-range finish on 71 minutes.

X-Roads, however, found a leveller two minutes later when Jamin Furbert headed home to make it 3-3.

Somerset Eagles and Paget Lions battled to an exciting 2-2 draw at White Hill Field.

Eagles took the lead after Darin Dowling converted from the penalty spot in the 25th minute.

But Paget hit back in the 50th minute through a goal from winger Xavier James, who is better known for his track and field exploits as a sprinter.

Eagles regained the lead in the 60th minute through a goal from midfielder Kanhai Fray.

But the home side’s advantage lasted only five minutes as Kenneth Matthie, one of the smallest players on the pitch, rose above the Eagles defence to head home a corner kick.

Eagles spurned two opportunities to grab all three points in the closing minutes.

Heys Wolfe, the former Devonshire Cougars and Dandy Town midfielder, struck the bar when he should have done better, while Lamar Croften dragged a shot from close range wide when scoring seemed easier.
