Pictures wanted for tribute concert

The Bermuda Chamber Choir is asking the public’s help in finding pictures of First World War soldiers for an upcoming tribute concert.

The concert, titled We Will Remember, is intended to mark the 100th anniversary of the conflict with song, but organisers said they hope to incorporate photographs of soldiers in military dress and other First World War pictures as part of their presentation.

“We love the idea of using these more personal family owned photos from WWI as we think they will lend an extra poignance to an already moving theme,” a spokeswoman for the choir said.

Those interested in contributing photographs are asked to e-mail them to bermudachamberchoir@outlook.com before November 5.

The concert will be held at St Paul’s Church in Paget on November 29 at 7.30pm, with a second performance scheduled for 4pm on November 30.

Among the pieces set to be performed are Edward Elgar’s We Will Remember Them, Gustav Holst’s I Vow to Thee My Country and Karl Jenkin’s The Armed Man (A Mass for Peace).
