Karen Smith returned to Bermuda last night after her heroic performance at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, where she was the top female in the 45-49 age group. Smith completed the 2.4-mile swim in 1:08:44, the 112-mile bike in 5:43:19 and the 26.2-mile run in 3:36:13 for a total time of 10hr 36min 37sec.
