Recovery. In business many are aware that the response you make to any negative situation is often a better measure of your effectiveness and teamwork than when you are in “normal” circumstances. The two storms that Bermuda experienced in the space of six days were dramatic and, in some ways, terrifying! The population, the businesses, and all other agencies responded by demonstrating teamwork and ingenuity and the Island returned to a sense of normalcy within days.

This is not to say that there aren’t significant issues for many and for businesses that sustained terrible damage to buildings, inventory and their ability to function. What it does demonstrate is that in times of crisis we can work as a team and focus on getting things back on track. The real object lesson from this experience is the need for all of us to do the exact same thing as we address how we get our economy back on track, particularly with the negative impact that these storms have on everyone. Remember TEAM ­— “together each achieves more!”
