They were true examples of the ‘Best of Bermuda’

Making things better: Regiment soldiers during the post-Gonzalo clean-up. A Warwick couple has written to express thanks to the Regiment for the assistance they provided after a tree fell on their home during Tropical Storm Fay

October 23, 2014

Dear Lt Col Michael Foster-Brown,

My husband and I would like to express our gratitude to the Bermuda Regiment for its assistance following Fay’s destructive visit.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, responding to our call for help, a six-member squad of the Regiment reported to our home at 2 Frithcote Lane, in Warwick, and fell to work removing a huge tree which had fallen across our kitchen roof. Removing the tree took almost six hours of arduous labour, but their teamwork and good humour won the day. They were extremely polite and obviously concerned for our well-being.

We commend to you the following members of the Bermuda Regiment: Sgt Major Lambert, Private Smith (MT), Private Burnett-Herkes, Lance Corporal Brangman, Lance Corporal Frost, W Private Benjamin (Medic).

These individuals, and other young men and women like them in the Regiment, give new meaning to the concept of service to the community. They are true examples of “The Best of Bermuda.”

Again, thank you.
