New partnership for Tourism Authority

The Bermuda Tourism Authority has formed a new partnership aimed at enhancing business tourism to the Island.

The BTA has joined the US organisation Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) and is now listed on the group’s “Global Luxury Alliance”, giving access to the group’s portfolio of accounts.

The aim is to grow the meetings and incentive business for the Island, according to BTA president Bill Hanbury.

Expanding Bermuda’s market for meetings, incentives, conventions and events — known collectively under the acronym Mice — was one of the targets in the National Tourism Plan.

ALHI has 20 offices across North America. The BTA said the partnership would improve the Island’s access to “meeting professionals, incentive specialists, association executives, convention planners, and business executives managing meetings and programmes”.
