MacIntyre promoted to partner at Rego Sotheby’s

Rego Sotheby's International partner Penny MacIntyre

Real estate firm manager Penny MacIntyre has been promoted to partner at Rego Sotheby’s International, the firm announced today.

Ms MacIntyre — who has been with the firm for seven years — moves up from executive vice-president and earlier was manager of commercial agency transactions.

Company chief Buddy Rego said: “Penny’s contribution to the commercial real estate world in Bermuda is renowned, while positioning Rego Sotheby’s International Realty as a leading provider of commercial real estate services.”

Ms MacIntyre and Mr Rego will now share equal responsibility for the firm.

Mr Rego added: “I congratulate her in this new capacity and look forward to her collaboration in further developing our company both here in Bermuda and abroad.”

Mr Rego said that Ms MacIntyre had “contributed significantly” to the quality of the residential agency product offered by the company since becoming executive vice-president.

And he added that he had appreciated her help in the management of operations and human resources, which had allowed Rego Sotheby’s International towards its goal of being top realtor in Bermuda.

Ms MacIntyre said: “I have been fortunate to have bosses throughout my career who have been instrumental in my professional direction — none more influential than Buddy, which for me makes this partnership logical, inspiring and an honour.”

She added: “When real estate is your passion and you get the opportunity to partner with the most formidable international real estate company in Bermuda, where success and potential exist every day, you say yes.”

The firm has been exclusive agents and consultants for 80 per cent of the Island’s notable hotel and tourism projects, including the former Sonesta, the Coral Beach Club and Horizons and Tucker’s Point.

Rego Sotheby’s also has a 60 percent share of the Island’s luxury property market.
