Jones at the double for Colts

Kyle Jones scored Colts

Devonshire Colts 4

Wolves 0

Kyle Jones netted a goal early in each half as Devonshire Colts booked their passage into the semi-finals of the First Division Shield yesterday at Devonshire Recreation Club.

The striker was denied a hat-trick with his last kick before being substituted when his shot was pushed against the post by Jahhi Shakir, the Wolves goalkeeper, five minutes from the end. But there was no denying Colts who also got goals from Lozendro Symonds and Teniko Eve.

Jones broke the deadlock in the opening minutes when he tucked his shot past Shakir.

A substitution at the start of the second half paid off for Colts immediately. Treshun Smith’s corner was hammered home by Jones at the far post.

Wolves had a chance to cut the Colts lead when they were awarded a penalty in the 54th minute after Shacoi Daniels had been fouled. However, Segio Richardson’s spot-kick hit both uprights before a relieved Gregory Rose in the Colts goal caught the ball as Richardson followed up.

Symonds and Eve scored late to wrap-up a convincing win.
