Pair accused of cannabis possession

A Hamilton woman appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with possession of cannabis worth more than $20,000 with intent to supply.
Maxine Simmons, 58, is charged with possession of the drug as well as possession of items for use in the preparation of drugs — two digital scales and a pair of scissors.
Ms Simmons pleaded not guilty to the offences. She was released on $10,000 bail with a like surety and is due to appear back in court on March 24.
A St George’s man Michael Denbrook, 60, pleaded not guilty to possession of a small amount of cannabis. and was released on $1,500 bail with a like surety. He will reappear on January 22 for mention.
