A man has denied stealing a rain jacket and items from a pharmacy.

Alexander Christopher, 45, appeared in Magistrates’ Court today and pleaded not guilty to theft.

He is accused of taking a rain jacket from Island Trading on Reid Street and $93 worth of goods from the Phoenix Stores.

Mr Christopher, of Wellington Back Road, St George’s, is alleged to have taken the jacket on October 5 and the pharmacy items on December 10.

He was remanded into custody until January 29 for mention.
