Christmas dinner to be served for those in need

A Christmas Day lunch for families in need will be served at the Hamilton Seventh-Day Adventist Church on King Street, sponsored by Bermuda CableVision.

It marks the fourth year that the company and church have teamed up for the holiday meal, to be held from 1pm to 3pm on December 25.

CableVision will buy and prepare the food, with staff joining church volunteers to serve the meals.

“We believe the spirit of Christmas includes everyone, and enjoying a fine holiday meal in the company of warm, caring people, is something that all members of our community should experience on this special day,” said company CEO Terry Roberson.

The traditional meal featuring roast turkey will include vegetarian options.

Kenneth Manders, the church pastor, offered thanks for CableVision’s support.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to share God’s love and blessings and to make certain that no one is left out on this special day,” Pastor Manders said.

“We look forward to extending a warm welcome to our guests and to sharing the joy of Christmas with them.”

Up to 200 families can be accommodated in the church hall.
