Tourism Summit presentations to go online

The Bermuda Tourism Authority has hailed the Bermuda Tourism Summit as a success, announcing that presentations made during the summit will be online next week.

In a statement this afternoon, BTA director of public and stakeholder relations Glenn Jones said: “Stakeholders who attended, and some who heard about it on social media, are contacting us for access to presentations. We wanted to let everyone know we’re supremely interested in sharing the information and will upload it to our website soon.”

He said the BTA have been receiving positive feedback by e-mail and twitter from the 320 industry stakeholders who took part in the event in which the authority discussed its strategy and outlook for the year.

Among those who expressed excitement following the summit were entrepreneur Belcario Thomas, Suzie Pewter of the Whitfield Group and Ross Webber of the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA).

Mr Thomas wrote: “Feeling inspired and refocused to kick off 2015! Thanks for laying down a solid foundation … the next generation of tourism entrepreneurs are ready to stand up!”

Mrs Pewter described the summit as the “most memorable day” in her 29 years in marketing and promotional business on the Island, while Mr Webber said: “The BDA and BTA have been collaborating since inception.

“It is very important that stakeholders and the public are provided such opportunities to understand the way our organisations actually do communicate and find solutions collegially. Combined, we are so much more and we look forward to progressing Bermuda together.”
