One win in six is dismal form from Newcastle but an away game at Hull offers potential respite. John Carver is in charge of the North East club until the end of the season — a money-saving decision if ever there was one.

Hull have looked shaky and have not scored in six of their past eight games. This one is anybody’s.

Prediction: 2-1

Crystal Palace v Everton

The Alan Pardew effect has been felt at Palace as four wins out of four prove.

Everton are having a distinctly unconvincing season in the league and have lost five on the bounce away from home.

Prediction: 2-1

Liverpool v West Ham United

This is the ideal chance for Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing to ram one down Liverpool’s throat for letting them go.

Both are in form, but Liverpool are on a good run and if they can find the net, will prevail here. Daniel Sturridge could be on the bench.

Prediction: 2-0

Manchester United v Leicester City

Fresh from their, er, 0-0 draw against Cambridge United, United should be pumped for this one given the result in the reverse fixture (5-3 to Leicester).

They look disjointed at the moment but Leicester, despite a solid effort so far, should be brushed aside.

Stoke City v Queens Park Rangers

Disappointment for Stoke after the news that the sublimely talented Bojan Krkic is out long term.

The good news is that Bojan was an infant the last time QPR won away.

Prediction: 2-0

Sunderland v Burnley

These two are level on points and have drawn the most amount of games in the league.

The onus is on the home side but their record at the Stadium of Light is awful.

A draw — in a shock move.

Prediction: 1-1

West Bromwich Albion v Tottenham Hotspur

West Brom have quickly become a tighter outfit under Tony Pulis and he remains unbeaten since taking charge.

Spurs have had a lot on their plate recently and a sapping Capital One Cup semi-final away to Sheffield United may affect them here.

Chelsea v Manchester City

1.30pm

Interesting one this. Chelsea unbeaten in ten at home, while City have clocked wins in their past six away matches.

Chelsea have injury worries after the bruising midweek semi-final against Liverpool, while City have struggled without Yaya Touré and need Sergio Agüero to return to form.

Home win — just.

Arsenal v Aston Villa

Against Bournemouth, Carles Gil provided the Villa fans with something they’ve lacked for a while now – entertainment. He is set for a first start for the club but Arsenal must be clear favourites.

Southampton v Swansea

12pm

Swansea are without a win in four and appear to be struggling to cope with the loss of goal poacher Wilfried Bony.

For Saints, fives wins in six and they look likely to march on.

Prediction: 3-0
