Tall Ship the Lord Nelson arrived in St George yesterday morning, partially crewed by physically challenged sailors.

The ship is docked at Penno’s Wharf and is due to sail from the Old Town to Hamilton today.

The Lord Nelson is one of two tall ships designed to enable people of all physical abilities to sail, the other is Tenacious.

It was built by the Jubilee Sailing Trust and combines a square rig with special features including an audio compass, wheelchair lifts and integrated Braille instructions. The ship sailed to Bermuda in July 2013 as part of its Sail the World challenge, travelling 51,000 nautical miles and crossing the equator six times.
