CCTV still being examined in graffiti case

An investigation into a spate of graffiti vandalism is still active, although no arrests have been made according to Police.

Vandals painted on Government buildings, cafes and broadcasting offices, using references to Isis, the extremist Islamist group.

More than 30 Police officers were originally tasked with investigating the crime spree that took place at the rear of the Cabinet building, Global House, Chatterbox cafe, the Defontes building and 129 Front Street.

A Police spokesman told The Royal Gazette: “The Bermuda Police Service continues to progress its investigation into the wilful damage throughout the City of Hamilton.

“No arrests have been made at this time.

“The BPS is continuing the examination of all the CCTV collected.

“We continue to appeal to members of the public who may have information which could lead to identifying the person or persons responsible for these acts of vandalism to come forward.”

Any information should be passed to Detective Inspector Clarke of the Criminal Investigation Unit on 247-1744.
