CedarBridge basketballers fight to the finish

CedarBridge Academy’s varsity basketball teams aren’t going down without a fight in the playoff season.

On March 9, the wildcat boys had home advantage as they took on MSA in a game of wit, as the two teams needed more than just speed and accuracy to overcome their opponent.

At the end of a hard battle, the wildcat boys were victorious with a score of 80-69.

The ladycats’ victory was one of pure communication and focus as the girls encouraged and coached one another on their way to a 34-27 win against Saltus Grammar School. A double win!

Consequently, what seemed to be a struggle for the basketball teams the day after turned into an enormous gain as the wildcat boys were tied with Warwick Academy with 11 minutes left in the game, down by three points with three minutes left in the game.

They came back victoriously with a six-point lead of 57-51 on Warwick Academy’s home court.

The ladycats had their share of scramble as they faced MSA with the inability to sink more than two shots in eleven minutes.

Frustrated and eager, the ladycats pulled their heads together with their cheer on “Focus”, got back in the game and defeated MSA 28-6 on MSA’s home court.

As the CedarBridge Academy varsity Wildcats continue their journey to the championships, it is clear to see that victory is their friend.

However, in any case, CedarBridge will be determined to fight to the finish and fight for gold.
