Butterfield Bank shares shed a cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

The bank dipped 0.5 per cent to $1.98 as 10,000 of its common shares traded.

Butterfield’s 8 per cent preference shares were the only other issue to trade. They held their price at $1,140 as 45 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 4.72 points, or 0.35 per cent, to close on 1,361.18.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 5.8 points, or 0.37 per cent, to end the day on 1,558.34.
