Iris takes women’s title

Kent Bean and Talia Iris both won double grand championships in forms and titles in the 33rd Bermuda Open Karate Championships at Pembroke Sunday School yesterday.

Runners-up in the male and female categories were Anthony Leader and Andrea McKey while Justin Ebbin, for intermediate boys, Javier Franks for boys’ weapons and Ryley Mason for intermediate girls. Sparring winners for active divisions were Janmi Douglas for boys six to seven-years-old, Kallan Todd, boys’ eight to nine, and Ngai Franklin, boys’ 10-11.
