The Bermuda Tourism Authority is set to sponsor the sixth annual TravelMole Regatta in Britain.

The event, which is scheduled to take place on July 9, will feature ten yachts competing in five races off the British coast for the McKenzie Cup.

An article on the TravelMole website quotes Victoria Isley, of the BTA, as saying: “Bermuda is thrilled to support UK travel trade partners through such a great event. Sailing experiences increase team spirit, inspire leadership and build trust — those are important elements in the travel industry as well as life.

“To highlight the beautiful waters of Bermuda as home of the 35th America’s Cup is just fantastic.”

The article also notes Bermuda’s investment in the America’s Cup, including the construction of the race village in Dockyard and the $90 million renovation of The Fairmont Hamilton Princess.
