Elliot and TN Tatem continue dominance

Elliot Primary and TN Tatem retained their Primary and Middle Schools titles while Berkeley dethroned CedarBridge during the Bermuda Pacers Track Club’s Schools Relay Classic on Friday at the National Stadium, National Sports Centre.

Elliot finished with 30 points to edge out West Pembroke by two points, while Paget Primary finished third on 18 points.

TN Tatem extended their winning streak in the Middle Schools to six with another impressive showing, beating Whitney with 52 points to 28. Sandys Secondary were third with 22 points.

Berkeley finished ahead of defending champions CedarBridge in the senior schools with 60 points.

CedarBridge were second on 48 points and Saltus third with 22.

Records were set along the way with Paget Primary posting a new best time in the girls 4x100 metres relay finals in 56.97 sec.

Elliot set a new mark in the boys 4x100m preliminaries when their A team of Keshon Paynter, Jahsir Muwwakkil, Josiah King and Kahzi Sealey had a winning time of 55.63 seconds to break the previous record of 57.04 set by Port Royal in 2011.

Elliot also beat the previous record with their time of 56.39 in the final.

TN Tatem lowered their own record in the girls 4x100 Middle schools after their team of Zakhari Turner, Sakile Zuill, Kaamilah Nasir and Ke-ces Jackson clocked 51.63 in the final to beat their previous record of 51.93 in 2011.

TN Tatem raised the bar in the boys 4x400, where their winning time of 3:55.12 broke the previous record of 3:55.16 held by Dellwood.

The West Pembroke 4x400 girls A team of Nalia Mitchell, Tésyah-Mahle Astwood, Yvé Smith and Jade Johnston set a record when they comfortably won the final in 4: 54.60, sixteen seconds ahead of Somersfield Academy A and Northlands Primary.

Berkeley also capped their performance with a record in the senior boys 4x400, where Dandy Town first-team footballers Jahnazae Swan and Jahtino Richardson-Martin joined up with Carifta Games athlete Kionje Somner and Charmari Henry.

They set a new mark of 3:29.97, breaking the previous record posted by Berkeley four years ago.
