Robinson’s Marina gas station reopens

Robinson’s Marina gas station has officially reopened, three months after it abruptly closed its doors.

RUBiS Energy Bermuda managing director David Rose made the announcement yesterday.

“RUBiS would like to apologise to our loyal customers for any inconvenience the unexpected closure may have caused,” he said.

“Robinson’s will be open seven days a week from 6.30am through to 9pm for the summer months, and the management and staff look forward to providing you with quality RUBiS fuels, our award-winning rewards programme, the incredible Fuel for Life promotion, and the outstanding service we are known for.”

Kent Richardson, the owner of Bermuda Water-Skiing and Wakeboard Centre, said it was great to see the gas station up and running again.

He added that the new owners had “cleaned it up a little bit” and that “having the convenience is fantastic”.

Mr Richardson, who has been operating out of Robinson’s Marina for 35 years, said it made life a lot easier for everyone there.

He is also hoping it will bring more people to the area.

Chris Gauntlett, the owner of Blue Water Divers & Watersports, also welcomed the gas station’s reopening.

He was happy to see the new management and said that all had been going well.

Mr Gauntlett added that it had been busy since opening and that it was convenient to be able to once again get fuel there.

Captain Sinclair Lambe, who runs his boat Mega Bucks out of Robinson’s Marina, told The Royal Gazette earlier this month that the gas station was “a lifesaver for everybody”, in particular local fishermen.

The gas station closed on March 5. At that time, Rubis sales manager Jermaine Simons said that they had been informed by the dealer on-site, Robinson’s Marina Ltd, that they no longer wished to continue operations at the station.
