New car among charity raffle’s top prizes

A major raffle on a scale not seen in recent years will have its winners announced later this week by the charity CDD Bermuda.

Formerly the Government-run Community Driven Department, CDD has been aiming to support women on financial assistance as they try to get back to work.

Executive director Deborah-Anne Blakeney thanked Governor George Fergusson for his support, saying Government House had backed CDD from the get-go. Top prizes include $20,000, $10,000 and $5,000 certificates of deposit and a new car.

Tickets are $50 each from the group’s headquarters at suite 301 in Melbourne House, the King Street store B4 the Party, and Demco Florist on Church Street. For tickets, e-mail CDDBermuda@gmail.com or call 296-0609 or 534-2731. The draw will be held at 3pm on Friday at the charity’s office.
